Aluminium
Some of the greatest technical developments over the past century since aluminium became commercially available have centered around, or even been enabled by, aluminium.
Aluminium is the most plentiful element in the earth's crust and with the high proportion of recycling, reserves of the metal are never likely to be depleted.
Some of the benefits in using alumimium are:
- High strength to low weight ratio
- Formability
- Corrosion resistant
- Good conductivity of heat and electricity
- Does not burn. Aluminium in mill or anodised finish will not spread flame across its surface
- Recyclable
